Data Collection and use of data

As a visitor, you do not have to submit any personally identifiable information in order to use the Centaur Trust website. Personally identifiable information is not collected via the Centaur Trust site unless it is specifically and voluntarily provided by visitors. Such limited identifiable information includes among others, the name, title, company address, email address, and telephone and fax numbers, from site visitors.

As a general rule, sensitive information (e.g., data relating to race or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, criminal record, physical or mental health, or sexual orientation) is not collected from visitors to the Centaur Trust site. We will, where necessary, obtain visitors’ explicit consent to collect and use such information.

Visitors are also able to send emails through the website. Their messages will contain the user’s screen name and email address, as well as any additional information the user may wish to include in the message. Because we use the site as a recruiting tool, a visit to the site may also result in the user sending a resume or provide additional personal data for recruiting purposes. However, please note that it is not the intention of Centaur Trust to seek any sensitive information through our site unless legally required for recruiting purposes. Sensitive information includes a number of types of data relating to: race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or other similar beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual preferences or criminal record. We suggest that you do not provide sensitive information of this nature. If you do wish to provide sensitive information for any reason, Centaur Trust accepts your explicit consent to use that information in the ways described in this privacy statement or as described at the point where you choose to disclose this information.

Information obtained by the website is used only for the intended purpose stated at the time that the information is collected. This data is not shared with any third parties, unless otherwise disclosed at the point of collection. If there is an instance where such information may be shared, the visitor will be asked for permission beforehand.

You may at any time request to be removed from emails or other communications generated in response to your registration on the Centaur Trust website.

Data security and integrity

Centaur Trust has reasonable security policies and procedures in place to protect personal information from unauthorized loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Despite Centaur Trust’s best efforts, however, security cannot be absolutely guaranteed against all threats. Centaur Trust understands the importance of protecting children’s privacy in the interactive online world.
